Jamis Fite: Former West Hartford Travel Player
Former West Hartford Travel Soccer PlayerJamis Fite Earns Man of The Match at AllState All-American Cup
Jamis Fite first joined WHYSA Travel Soccer at six-years-old as a U8. After playing various positions on the pitch he quickly settled into his role as a goalkeeper. In his fifth year with the club Jamis backstopped the U11A team to both the Fall and Spring Connecticut Cup Championship. His soccer journey then led him to FSA FC, where he competed in multiple national events in West Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado.
Jamis joined the soccer program at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT in 2016 as a freshman. He quickly took over as the starting GK and went on to compete in the NEPSAC Class A Quarter-Final during his inaugural season. As a sophomore, Jamis helped the team win the NEPSAC Class A Championship against the Berkshire School, earning recognition as the Coaches' Player of the Year, and a spot on the New England Soccer Journal's 2017 Third Best XI. After his third season with Loomis, Jamis was named to the All NEPSAC Class A Team, the Juniors All-Star Team, and nationally recognized as an AllState All-American.
As an All-American, Jamis was recognized as one of the top 125 high school junior soccer players in the U.S. The best 40 of those 125 players were brought together in Orlando, FL on July 31st to play in the AllState Cup (https://allstatecup.com), which was broadcast live on ESPNU. Coached by former USMNT players Brian McBride and Taylor Twellman, the two teams competed for the cup in a fast-paced, high-action game. After a couple of show-stopping saves during the first half of the game, Jamis handed the GK reins to the second keeper for Team McBride. When the game ended in a 1-1 tie, Jamis was brought back on the pitch for a penalty shootout. He successfully stopped two of the six PKs he faced from Team Twellman. Despite ultimately losing the game in PKs, he was named the AllState Cup Man of the Match (https://www.nesoccerjournal.com/loomis-chaffee-goalie-jamis-fite-allstate-all-america-cup/).
Jamis will represent Loomis Chaffee in his final season this fall, and aims to bring home another Class A Championship trophy for the Pelicans. Though he is still undecided about college, he has strong prospects and hopes to land with a program that can compete for a NCAA Division 1 championship.
